This article details exactly how the points you earn on each order placed by your patients are calculated, as well as the impact of the discount you grant them.
💡 Good to know: your points are always calculated on the product price excluding VAT and excluding shipping costs. You keep control over the rate you pass back to your patients as a discount.
The two-step formula
1. Your effective practitioner rate
Your effective practitioner rate depends on the discount you choose to grant your patient:
% practitioner = % total − % patient discount
% total: your overall benefit rate defined with Simplycure (15% or 20%)
% patient discount: the share you choose to pass back to the patient as a discount on their orders
2. The calculation base
Once your effective rate is known, it applies to the net amount of the order:
Points = % practitioner × (total − shipping − VAT − patient discount)
In other words: shipping costs, VAT and the discount already applied to the patient are removed from the total order, then your effective rate is applied to what remains.
A concrete example
Take an order of 111,90 € incl. VAT (before patient discount), with:
Products excluding tax: 100,00 €
VAT (6%: food supplements): 6,00 €
Shipping costs: 5,90 €
Your total benefit rate: 15 %
Discount granted to your patient: 5 %
Amount of the discount applied: 5,00 €
Step 1: your effective rate:
15 % − 5 % = 10 %
Step 2: the calculation base:
111,90 € − 5,90 € − 6,00 € − 5,00 € = 95,00 €
Your points:
10 % × 95,00 € = 9,50 points (i.e. 9,50 €)
✅ On this order, your patient benefits from 5 € of immediate discount, and you earn 9,50 points.
What never enters the calculation
To avoid any nasty surprises, here is what is always excluded from the calculation base:
The shipping costs paid by the patient
The VAT applicable to the order
The patient discount you chose to grant
Any Simplycure promo codes applied to the order
⚠️ A small pitfall to avoid: the more you increase the discount granted to your patient, the more your effective practitioner rate decreases. If your patient discount equals your total benefit rate, you no longer earn points on that order, and your patients then benefit from the best price.

Why are VAT and shipping costs excluded?
VAT is paid to the state and shipping costs only cover the actual logistics cost. These amounts do not generate any margin for Simplycure, so they cannot serve as a base for your points.
Can I change the discount percentage granted to my patients?
Yes, at any time from your practitioner area. The change applies to future orders, never to orders already placed.
